Experience the magical world of Domaine Le Castelet
Visit our reception rooms and imagine what your special day could be like with a virtual tour.
Domaine Le Castelet is a magnificent property in the South-West of France set in 60 hectares of countryside. Available for weddings for private hire only, it features two buildings: a manor house, known locally as the château, and a converted farmhouse.
The 1,000m² farm formerly housed stables, a sheepfold, a cowshed, barns and granaries; we have lovingly restored and converted this handsome U-shaped building into holiday cottages and a space for seminars and weddings.
In the light of travel restrictions due to the pandemic, we’ve created a virtual tour so you can explore our wedding venues and the estate around them without leaving home.
Say “I do” in the shade of the lime trees
As you walk down the path with the farmhouse on your right, you’ll see the large swimming pool surrounded by flowers and trees and the elegant manor house with its green shutters.
To the left of the château, shaded by limes and fir trees, is the area where wedding ceremonies, both religious and secular, are held. On the Saturday morning, Eric will set up the arch made out of saplings from the estate and the antique benches (ten church pews with backs and around twelve backless ones) while I prepare the beautiful bride & groom seat.
After the weddingceremony, the bride, groom and guests will head to the farmhouse for the reception.
In the barn, a covered area which opens onto the courtyard, guests can sit in the shade with a drink, have the children’s dinner served whilst the grown-ups take an aperitif, or just have a quiet chat around a wine barrel table.
In the bar area near the olive trees, we’ll set up a draft beer dispenser.
A relaxed atmosphere
On the lawn in the inner courtyard you can have the reception dinner under the oak trees, either with a rustic yet elegant, bohemian décor, with solid cherrywood tables made by craftsmen, or go for a more festive vibe with fairy lights.
Alternatively, you can choose to have the meal inside, in the 20m x 8m-function room, formerly the stables and sheepfold. In terms of the table set-up, you could have for example round tables with tablecloths for guests and an oval top table, thus accommodating up to 120 guests.
At one end of the room you can see the kitchen for the wedding caterers on one side and the Verger function room, a cosy little room, ideal for children.
Your wedding: an ideal opportunity to express your style and personality.
This virtual tour will show you the most commonly used layouts for wedding receptions. But as you’ll have the whole place to yourself, nothing is stopping you having drinks by the pool or the ceremony in the barn. Eric and I are on hand to advise you and help you plan this special weekend which should reflect your personality.
